About Us
Location
Located in the heart of Surrey, in the village of Send, Cartbridge Marina is ideally situated for a day’s cruising south to Godalming or north to Weybridge. The non-tidal stretch of the River Thames makes for an easy cruise to Hampton Court Palace or Windsor over a long weekend. For longer trips, the entrance to the Basingstoke Canal is a short distance away and a whole network of waterways can be accessed from the Thames.

Local Information
Here at Cartbridge Marina you are never far from the best of what England has to offer, from the natural beauty of the surrey hills to the bustling city of London, we have it all!
By road, Cartbridge Marina is just a mile and a half drive onto the A3 and just 30 miles to central London. There is a bus stop two minutes walkaway with routes into Woking and Guildford, with a 40 minute train journey into London. Cartbridge is located in the Surrey village of Send with a small grocery store, Indian, Chinese, fish and chip takeaways and a friendly cafe. The New Inn pub in the village has visitor moorings right outside and the Anchor at Pyrford is also on the banks of the River Wey and just three locks away. We are lucky enough to have the fantastic RHS Wisley gardens just a ten minute drive away where you could easily spend a day walking around their beautiful grounds, no matter the season. Or moor up near the Anchor pub and it is a pleasant 20 minute walk through the golf course.

Location
The River Wey is owned and maintained by the National Trust. In our slightly biased opinion it is the most beautiful, natural and quiet waterway in the UK. It is the second oldest canal in the UK with so much history to explore with visitor moorings outside Dapdune Wharf visitor centre where there is a museum and tearoom. The river passes through the historic market town of Guildford and the navigation ends in Godalming where you will find plenty of pubs and restaurants.

More About Us
Jordan, 26, is our onsite manager available 24/7 – but preferably between 10 am and 5 pm! He has spent many holidays on narrowboats with his enthusiastic parents. Fortunately he has also caught the ‘boating bug’ and is equally enthusiastic in taking on this new role. A willing helper in the family’s narrowboat hire business, Jordan is looking forward to developing his own ideas to ensure Cartbridge Marina is truly the best on the Wey.
Julie, is a true Guildfordian with three generations of family having lived in the town. Despite (or maybe because of) living just 100 yards from where she was born, Julie loves to travel but has never found a better place to live than Guildford. She has lots of knowledge of the local area and can always recommend a good pub or a day’s outing. Julie can be found in the office wearing either her ‘Cartbridge Marina’ or her ‘On the Wey Narrowboat Hire’ Hat….. whilst busy planning her next holiday!
Ray started his career as an antique restorer and immediately took to boating after our first narrowboat holiday back in the eighties. Julie and Ray started their own small narrowboat holiday hire in 2010 at their idyllic premises on the banks of the River Wey. A keen DIYer, Ray spends much of his time keeping our hire boats maintained and resolving any issues – much to the frustration of our friendly mechanic who answers Ray’s phone calls with “what have you done now?”!!. Ray has amassed a great deal of knowledge of all things boaty and is happy to share his experience and offer suggestions to anyone that will listen!
